Antonio Puri was born in Chandigarh and raised in the Himalayas where he attended English and International boarding schools. Later he attended the Academy of Art in San Francisco and Coe College in Iowa for a bachelors degree in Art and English and later a JD degree from the University of Iowa. He has exhibited his work in solo exhibitions all over the world including Museo de Arte del Tolima, in Colombia, Museo Bolivariano de Arte Contemporaneo, Santa Marta, Colombia, Sundaram Tagore Gallery Singapore, Government Museum and Art Gallery Chandigarh, India, Art Depot, Austria, La Cometa Gallery, Bogota, Museo Casa Conde Rul, Mexico, The Guild, NY, Nu Art Gallery in Santa Fe, Twelve Gates, Philadelphia, Philadelphia Art Alliance, and a two person show at the Noyes Museum, NJ. He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions worldwide including venues like Essl Museum, Austria, Hammond Museum, NY, Queens Museum, NY, Sundaram Tagore Gallery, NY, Gallery Espace, New Delhi, Edsviks Konsthall, Stockholm, MOP Gallery, Sydney, Musee du Chateau, France, Corcoran Gallery in DC, and Minneapolis Institute of Arts, MN, among others. Museum collections include Government Museum and Art Gallery, Chandigarh, India, Punjab Lalit Kala Academy, Chandigarh, India, National Gallery of Modern Art, Mauritius, Noyes Museum, NJ, Albertina Museum, Austria, Musee du Chateau, France, Museo de Arte del Tolima, Colombia and Bergen Museum of Art and Science, NJ. His work has been reviewed in the New York Times, Washington Post, Philadelphia Inquirer, Indian Express, Times of India, Art das Kunstmagazin, El Tiempo-Colombia among several other periodicals. He has done residencies in New York, Hungary, Bulgaria, Colombia, South Africa, Serbia, Mauritius, India, Denmark, and Romania.
